Orientation of Inbound Exchange Students AY2021/1
On Friday, August 6, 2021, ISE organized an Online Orientation for Inbound Exchange Students of the First semester, Academic Year 2021 via Microsoft Teams. There are 33 inbound exchange students from France, Germany and Japan. Specifically, there are 21 in ICE, 1 in NANO, 4 in ADME, 5 in AERO and 2 in Robotics & AI. In the orientation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit gave a welcome speech. Students received information of Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Engineering, and ISE. In addition, they were informed the regulations of visa renewal, CU health insurance for all exchange students, study program, important procedures and deadlines related to registration, online mode of teaching/learning, and relevant documents. Students were split to meet with their advisors in 2 breakout rooms. Mr. Romtam Kangsawiwat, a third year student of AERO Program and Head of Engineering Expats Community Club at Faculty of Engineering and Ms. Chayanin Sayamchai, a third year student of AERO Program served as MCs and introduced the planned student activities as the last part of the orientation.
Workshop on Preparing International School of Engineering Programs towards ABET accreditation
On Monday July 12, 2021, 08:30 A.M.-2.00 P.M. ISE with support from Office of Higher Education Commission organized a workshop on preparing ISE programs towards ABET accreditation. The speaker is Professor Dr. Methi Wecharatana, a professor and associate chair for graduate studies of New Jersey Institute of Technology. Moreover, he is an adviser to the board of directors of the Association of Thai Professionals in America and Canada (ATPAC). He is one of the alumni of Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, majored in Civil Engineering. Assistant Professor Dr. Phavanee Narataruksa helped coordination of the workshop. The objective of this workshop is to introduce the ABET accreditation criteria and to guide the international programs towards ABET accreditation. Associate Professor Dr. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, made a welcome address and opened the workshop. Topics of workshop include the following: ABET Accreditation: Overview Understanding What, Why and How Key Features of ABET system ABET Criteria What to DO to Prepare for ABET There were 35 participants including the ISE management, the ISE faculty staff, the curriculum management committee from the AERO, ADME, ICE, NANO, and Robotics & AI programs, the curriculum revision committee, and the ISE supporting staff. After the presentation, there was fruitful discussion. Associate Professor Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, ISE Director, made a concluding remark and thanked the speaker and all the participants.

ISE EEW Innovation Challenge 2019: You are dope!
First year students from AERO, ADME, NANO and ICE took part in the ISE EEW Innovation Challenge 2019, a competition held on 30 April. The winner group did impressive work on “O-12 Powerskate”. A runner-up group presented “Chlara”, an innovative application making driving safe. A very creative and delicious idea of drinking milk tea project “Pearl Buster” won a third-place and also a popular vote award. All 8 finalists were all brilliant! Big thanks to special guests: Khun Patai Padungtin from BUILK ONE GROUP, Assoc.Prof. Anongnat Somwangthanaroj, and Khun Pacharee Toorakidsana from dtac accelerate and dtac accelerate for sponsoring workshop seats for our winning team.

APAIE 2019 Conference & Exhibition in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia
From 25-29 March 2019, the representatives from ISE led by Prof. Dr. David Banjerdpongchai, Deputy Director of Innovation for Education and Research along with two support staffs participated in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2019 Conference and Exhibition held at The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The purpose of this participation was to discuss possible collaborations between the foreign universities and to further explore opportunities for future academic collaboration. During the event, the representatives from ISE was able to meet with representatives from partner and non-partner universities worldwide such as France, Hungary, Netherland, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Japan, China, Australia, Canada and USA.

Factory Visit at BMW On March 15, 2019 Automotive Design and Manufacturing Engineering (ADME) programme by Quality Design and Innovation Management Course visited BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) Company. Thank you very much, BMW for warm welcome and effective knowledge sharing. This time students gain real work experience in the manufacturing process. BMW is not only focused on implementing knowledge, but they also put knowledge sharing for everyone. The 2019 First International Symposium on Instrumentation, Control, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics (ICA-SYMP 2019)
The 2019 First International Symposium on Instrumentation, Control, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics (ICA-SYMP 2019) were attended by over 100 participants. The inaugural symposium was held on January 16-18, 2019 at the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University and organized by the Automatic Control Systems Technical Committee of Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology Association (ECTI Association) with a joint collaboration of Thai Robotics Society (TRS) and Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AAIT).

ASEAN School of Advanced Control (ASAC 2019)
ASEAN School of Advanced Control (ASAC 2019) was held at International School of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University on January 15-16, 2019. This is the second control course sponsored by IFAC Foundation for ASEAN (South East Asian) countries. The main purpose of ASAC 2019 is to provide an opportunity for mainly graduate students, young lecturers and researchers in control engineering to raise the possibilities to create, promote or consolidate research and educational groups dealing with automatic control theory and technology in ASEAN countries. The advanced control course also provides a forum for discussion of new ideas, research, development and applications, including techniques and methods to stimulate and inspire pioneering works in control engineering towards smart cities. Particularly, recent issues in the application of control technology in some areas of special local interests are emphasized.
