Professors from Institute of Science Tokyo Visit to Foster Research and Graduate Program Collaboration Professors from Institute of Science Tokyo Visit to Foster Research and Graduate Program Collaboration On June 20, 2025, the Nano-Engineering Program had the honor of welcoming Professor Masato Sone, Assistant Professor Tomoyuki Kurioka, and their Ph.D. students from the Materials & Structures Laboratory, Institute of Integrated Research, Institute of Science, Tokyo. The delegation was warmly received by Associate Professor Charusruk Viphavakit, Dr. Porpin Pungetmongkol, Dr. Ngaw Chee Keong, and Dr. Soracha Dechaumphai. During their visit, the guests toured the Nano-Engineering laboratories and engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty members and researchers. The conversations focused on collaborative opportunities in advanced materials research and the potential development of joint graduate programs. These discussions aim to strengthen international academic exchange and promote innovation in nanotechnology. This visit marks a significant milestone in building academic and research partnerships between the two institutions, paving the way for impactful, long-term collaboration in the field of nanoengineering.

The Nano-Engineering Capstone 2025, under this year's topic of Nano-Enhanced Food Packaging Solutions, has officially end! This year, the fourth-year Nano-Engineering students have showcased their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving abilities in tackling the challenge. Among all 9 teams! On April 25th, our talented students proudly presented their innovative projects at the AerCap ESG Challenge 2025. We were honored to have Mr. Joe Millar, Head of Technical (APAC) at AerCap — the world's largest aircraft leasing company — join us as an honorary judge. A special congratulations to Team HKT, the winning team! Their project, the "Sustainable Aviation Initiative for AerCap," proposed bold solutions to reduce carbon emissions through fuel-efficient aircraft, integrate bio-based and recyclable materials, and establish a comprehensive recycling program for retired aircraft — offering new revenue opportunities and advancing AerCap’s leadership in sustainable aviation.
