Clean up the river: Chulalongkorn University helped to make Bangkok a better place for one day
On September, 15 and 16, 2017 volunteers from embassies, civil society, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Universities gathered for an international event: Clean up the world. Chulalongkorn University was represented by a team from the International School of Engineering on September 16th (ISE, http://www.ise.eng.chula.ac.th/). For one hour, volunteers gathered plastic items in the streets and on the river. ISE partnered with the hotels Anantara & Avani Riverside Bangkok as well as with the United States Embassy to Bangkok. In one hour, more than 250 plastic bags were collected. For the whole nine locations, volunteers collected in one hour more than: - 2000 plastic bags - 700 plastic bottles - 600 plastic glasses - 900 glass bottles - 1300 Styrofoam packaging - 150 clothes/ fabrics - 1500 small plastic pieces (cigarettes, straw, snack packaging…) The collection is part in 2017 of a research project led by Mahidol University to help making the society and especially travel tours and agencies aware of the growing problem of plastic pollution. This event goes into the sustainable strategy of the International School of Engineering (ISE) at Chulalongkorn University, as well as sorting waste and encouraging common transportation (CU Pop Bus and free bicycle on the campus). Edmund Haberstroh, Advisor for Thailand on March 26, 2017 for a discussion on future collaboration. This special visit was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun, Dean of Faculty of Engineering,Asst. Prof. Witaya Wannasuphaprasit, Director of International School of Engineering and Prof.Dr.-Ing. Fritz Hartung,a lecturer of Metallurgical and material Engineering.

Asst. Prof. Witaya Wannasuphaprasit, ISE Director, Asst. Prof. Achariya Suriyawong from the Department of Environmental Engineering and Dr. Falan Srisuriyachai,assistant Dean of Faculty of Engineering have participated in this special meeting."

A campus tour : Mahidol University International Demonstration School
Chula ISE has an opportunity to welcome students and teachers from Mahidol University International Demonstration School . During their visit, the students were informed details of the four academic programsbeing offered at Chula ISE by the management and current ISE students.Afterwards, the students went on a campus tour, which enables them to explore more of Chula ISE. The campus tour included ADME laboratory, and Fight sim by Asst.Prof.Dr.Niphon Wansophark. Hopefully, students will be inspired to become engineers and join Chula ISE in the coming years.

"Certificate Handling “Summer Internship program" On November 24th, 2016 Dr. Akawat Sirisuk, ISE Deputy Director, attended SIEMENS Summer Internship Program Certificate Handling Ceremony at SIEMENS (Thailand), Charn Issara 2 Tower. Mr.Markus Lorenzini, President and CEO, was accompanied by Khun Dujdao Apichatabootra, Vice President and Financial Controller, and Khun Panthip Masman, Head of Human Resources, at this event. Chula ISE appreciated the opportunities for our students to participate in this amazing internship program at Siemens R&D facility in Finspong, Sweden. For the past two years, five students from Chula ISE were selected to participate in the summer internship program. We hope to continue this fruitful collaboration between Chula ISE and SIEMENS (Thailand) for a very long time.
